Information Evening on Reform Weddings

Do you want to get married but feel that the Orthodox Rabbinate doesn’t really speak to you?

The Daniel Centers wants you to know that there are other options!

Join us on Tuesday, October 9th at 8:00 pm for an evening all about Reform weddings in Israel.

During this information session we will cover:

  1. The egalitarian wedding ceremony: where everyone can play a part
  2. Options for shaping the ceremony that you desire: ketubah, prayers, texts and musical accompaniment
  3. Reform weddings vs. Orthodox Rabbinate weddings, and why it is not necessary to marry through the Rabbinate
  4. Ins and outs: procedures & legalities
  5. Any questions that you have always wanted to ask about Reform weddings

You will have the opportunity to meet and hear from:

– Rabbi Meir Azari, the head of the Daniel Centers for Progressive Judaism and a Reform rabbi who has officiated at hundreds of egalitarian wedding ceremonies.

– Attorney Nicole Maor who has been dealing with the legalities of non-Orthodox weddings in Israel for over 20 years.

– Musician and Cantorial Soloist Shimon Smith who has years of experience performing at wedding ceremonies.

Light refreshments will be served.
