Kabbalat Shabbat in Honor of International Human Rights Day
International Human Rights Day takes place yearly on December 10, when the UN General Council adopted the resolution of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in 1948. This resolution solidified the basic principles of human rights around the world.
For this special Kabbalat Shabbat, we are happy to welcome Mr. Yonatan Gher, director of Amnesty International in Israel for the past five years, the former CEO of the Jerusalem Open House for Pride and Tolerance, regional communications director of Greenpeace Mediterranean and a spokesman for the Conservative Movement in Israel. Gher will talk about the Jewish contributions to human rights from the time of Jeremiah until present day. We look forward to seeing you this Friday at 17:30.
