Don’t say that Tel Avivis don’t leave Tel Aviv…
A hiking group, organized through Beit Daniel, just opened for experienced hikers over the age of 18 and in excellent health. Our routes and tracks will be flexible, depending on the weather, the quality of the terrain and the capabilities of the intended group.The emphasis will be on challenging terrains and tracks.
Participants should bring with them at least 4 liters of water, sun screen and wear closed-toe shoes.
Saturday, January 16 – Nahal Kina (short track 8-9 km). The route will include archaeological sites, ancient wells and cisterns and desert channels. This first route will be a shorter introductory route, however, participants should be experienced and up for the walk.
Saturday, February 27 – Ma’aleh Yamin and Nahal Hatira. This route will take us through the Negev mountains and includes the possibilities of a path that will take you directly back to the parking lot in the crater (by Ain Yorkam). We will begin at Mishor Yamin, descend to Nahal Hatira and walk along the river to Ma’alah Palmach where we will ascend up the cliff on a ladder.We will finish at Ain Yorkam. The length of the route is 11 km).
Saturday, April 2 – From Kohav Ha’yarden to Kefar Kish: a challenging hike in the green season. This trek will take us to the Crusader’s fortress (no entrance is available) and down into Nahal Tavor and Basalt canyon. We will begin at Ramat Kohav and descend along a steep decline to Nahal Tavor. We will continue by walking along the river, through the Basalt canyon and alongside beautiful and lush flora. The length of this route is 14 km.
Each route will cost 200 NIS. All of the trips include a guide and transportation. The trips are dependent upon the number of participants.
