Sufganiyot All Around!

Tuesday night begins the festival of Hanukkah all over the world. But here, in Israel the festivities began weeks ago. Sufganiyot have taken over the markets, bus stations, bakeries, and cafes all over the country. These are not just your typical “jelly donuts.” You will see ones filled with caramel, or topped with chocolate icing. Some of them are flavored like creme brulee or pecan pie! There are even places where you can fill your own sufganiya. As the festival begins, eight-foot-tall Hanukiyot will be lit in many prominent squares throughout the state. Whether you are in Israel or abroad, we hope take the time during this holiday to enjoy sweet treats and have a meaningful celebration! Happy Hanukkah!
