Choosing to be a Jew is an exploratory process that begins through individual and familial experiences. This meaningful journey includes in-depth learning and familiarization with the roots of the Jewish cultures and customs directed towards building a personal Jewish identity and becoming past of \u201cAm Israel\u201d. The Daniel Centers is the only non-orthodox synagogue that has State recognition to offer a unique conversion course for those who do not have a Jewish mother, yet have chosen to live as a Jew and seek status for Israeli citizenship.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our year-long conversion process engages students with an emphasis on personal meaning and growth. Our goal is to provide an open and supportive space in which potential converts can learn and can also raise topics of discussion regarding our heritage, traditions, history, holidays, prayers, and symbols.<\/span><\/p>\n

Studies are held once a week for 90 minutes each, and are available in three languages: Hebrew, Russian and English. For those who were raised and educated in Israel the length of studies may range from three months to one year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Classes guide the student through six main themes: the Jewish life cycle, Jewish traditions, holidays and festivals, Israel\u2019s history and national holidays, the prayer book and prayer, and creating a Jewish home that is meaningful, inclusive and egalitarian. \u00a0 Students are encouraged to embrace and apply Judaism within their daily lives and take part in life cycle events in a way that is reflective of themselves in the modern Jewish worldview.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is important to note:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. We do not marry interfaith couples. Both must be Jewish through lineage or conversion.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. In accordance with the State of Israel, Jewish recognition is matrilineal. Therefore, those who have a Jewish father only must convert to be recognized a Jews by the State of Israel.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Students must have Israel Residency to register. E.g. Temporary resident card A- 5.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
