Education Preschools – Background, history and mission

Beginning   in 1998, the Daniel Centers now have a network of 20 pre-schools serving 800  children and their families.. The network consists of mainstream public preschools that have decided to become Reform affiliated and receive extra Judaic content provided by the Daniel Centers´ education department.   The program is supported by the municipality of Tel Aviv as well as schools and parents.

A rabbinic coordinator in our education department is responsible for Judaic content, which exposes children and families to the Hebrew calendar and its meaningful celebrations and holidays, including Shabbat, Havdalah, Rosh Chodesh, Shacharit and the Jewish holidays.

The pre-school educational programs strive to balance our Jewish cultural and religious heritage with the modern world we live in today. The programs promote and develop a progressive Judaic education option for secular families in Tel Aviv, embracing values of pluralism and equality, the humanistic elements of our Jewish and Israeli heritages and history, the importance of Tikkun Olam, and cultural and social sensitivity.

Our preschool staff has won numerous awards and recognition of excellence from the Tel Aviv Municipality and the Rothschild Foundation.
