Education Department Programs
Jewish Soul Overhaul
"Jewish Soul Overhaul" is a program designed to create a profound change in the schools in which it is implemented and bring Jewish values and tradition into the classroom and beyond. The program involves intensive instruction in all classes, teachers´ training and community work. It goes beyond enrichment to turn secular public schools into progressive "Jewish" schools in which Jewish identity and values penetrate every aspect of the school life.
Jewish Soul Overhaul is supported by the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles

Reform Elementary Schools – Ussishkin and Ztahala The education department at the Daniel Centers has been teaching core curriculum in two leading elementary schools in Tel Aviv. Our education department teaches extensive Judaic curriculum in these schools (over 200 instruction hours a year for each class, 18 classes with a total of 900 students) and a Jewish educator from the Daniel Centers is on each of the schools´ staff. Judaic classes in the school focus on Jewish identity, Jewish peoplehood, Jewish community worldwide and different streams of Judaism among other.
The involvement of the Daniel Centers in these schools is part of the school twinning program through the Los Angeles – Tel Aviv partnership. Both schools are twined with Reform schools in LA. The schools are secular public schools within Tel Aviv and the Daniel Centers´ involvement within the schools works to create a community that sees Beit Daniel as their congregation and community.
At V´AniThrough the At V´Ani program we wish to offer secular Israeli mothers and daughters a possibility to search together for their Jewish voice, while allowing mother-daughter to interact, discuss and explore their special bond. As part of the Bat Mitzvah experience mother and daughter are introduced and connected to a pluralistic Jewish voice and to the values and ideas of the Reform movement, while imparting them with “Judaic tools” for a continued Jewish journey. Women are also encouraged to take an active role in the religious life in Israel.

Celebrating Together Celebrating Together is based on the premises that holidays and traditions bond us together. We, at the Daniel Centers for Progressive Judaism in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, believe that finding ways for Arabs and Jews to celebrate together is a prerequisite to finding ways to live together. Through shared holidays and celebrations we create magical moments and joyous memories and can also promote important ideals and values. In today´s growing mixed cities and diverse societies it is essential to create shared holidays as opportunities to both explore diversity and reinforce universal collective values. The Celebrating Together program works to create holiday and celebration opportunities for mixed preschools and kindergartens – Jewish and Arab (Christian and Muslim), offering public secular mixed preschools innovative curriculum and trained educators to promote and implement universal holiday celebrations within the classroom and the community.
Celebrating Together receives support from the New Israel Fund, Women of Reform Judaism and Temple Sinai, DC.
